Una película documental analiza la vida privada de Rock Hudson
Veinticinco años después de su muerte, una película documental indagará en la vida privada del actor norteamericano Rock Hudson, intentando explicar cómo vivió su homosexualidad mientras triunfaba como estrella de cine.
De acuerdo con sus creadores, los alemanes Andrew Davies y Andre Schafer, “la película nos mostrará a una estrella haciendo
equilibrismos en secreto entre el mundo heterosexual de un actor de aspecto muy masculino y el lado oscuro de una sexualidad prohibida como gay en el armario“.
El documental incluye numerosas entrevistas, entre ellas algunas con miembros de la familia del actor o con quien fue su asistente durante diez años, Tom Clark.
También se podrán escuchar declaraciones de algunas de las estrellas que le dieron la réplica en la gran pantalla, como Elizabeth Taylor, Paula Prentiss, Heather Locklear o Linda Evans.
Hudson falleció en 1985 por complicaciones derivadas del virus del sida; de él se dijo que puso rostro a dicha enfermedad. En 1995, el célebre documental
El celuloide oculto se detenía en el caso del actor. Esta nueva película, titulada “Rock Hudson: dark and handsome stranger“, será estrenada en la inminente edición del Festival de Cine de Berlín.
